• Plastic itself is not bad, it’s dumb and inanimate. Plastic has transformed our lives and it's hard to imagine a world without it. It’s what we do with the plastic and how we choose to use it that matters. Karma Cycle aims for a better use of plastics, remanufacturing used plastics into durable goods that are useful over multiple years, replacing products that would otherwise create environmental damage in their production.

  • We have created two streams of production, beautiful high value products created from the plastics that are normally recycled, these are made available to sale. The profits from the sale of these products will be used to fund the production of building products like bricks and pavers. These will be provided to rural communities to build housing and community amenities.

WHAT WE DO

Karma Cycle is a sustainable environmental conservation project established and supported by Digital Alchemy and Active Life. It focuses on upstream plastic waste management by transforming these plastics into various forms of “Plastic Art” to add value and reduce potential carbon footprints within the ecosystem. The project also promotes the creation of employment opportunities and income for individuals within the community.

We can’t change the world on our own
but if many of us share and collaborate
we have a chance.

One of the main reasons is the widespread use of plastics in everyday life. Plastics can be found everywhere. Plastics production has been increasing steadily and has accelerated in recent years.

No matter how hard people are trying, plastic pollution cannot be contained. Even countries with long recycling habits are struggling.

Plastics are more durable these days so it takes a long time to break down. National Geographic estimates that it can be 400 years.

  • Reduce the amount of waste

Reusing plastic waste to diminish the volume that needs disposal in landfills

  • Building Awareness

Utilising profits derived from the sale of plastic products to fund other projects that will benefit the environment and the community in the future.

  • Creating Opportunities

Incorporating plastic waste into the production of this recycled product generates employment and increases income for the community.

Plastic Waste Collection

We are currently in the process of commencing operations in Chiang Rai, Thailand. We are working with local authorities and villages to establish a network to plastic waste collection from the Chiang Rai Area

Introducing the Recycled Coaster to a world without waste, our first product will be a coaster.  We hope you like it and feel inclined to add one on your dining table. Don’t buy it if you don’t need it. We are opposed to consumption for consumption's sake, that’s what got us into this mess in the first place.  But if you can see yourself using this coaster for at least 2 years then go for it.

While there is much hype about recycling, the fact is that only a small proportion of plastic produced ever makes it to a recycling process. The rest is headed to landfill or an incinerator.

35 baht profit from each coaster will be devoted to supporting activities for the underprivileged in Pa Ko Dam Sub-district, Mae Lao District, Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.

This recycled plastic coaster is an impressive creation made from reusing 35 used bottle caps manufactured by the community. Karma Cycle also promotes the creation of employment opportunities and income for individuals within the community.
